Dryer Knob Repair with 3D Printer

Our front-load dryer has a plastic knob that recently broke. It still works, but is getting looser every week. Part of the plastic shaft (see lower left) has snapped off. This is apparently a common failure. And the reason for a dryer knob repair project.

Radio People at War

Remembrance Day is just that. A day to remember members of armed forces who died in the line of duty. Originating as “the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month”, it was originally called Armistice Day to honor the end of World War I in 1918. Today, I would like to especially remember radio people at war.

Ken Nicholson Voice of the Jets

When you listened to CJOB radio broadcasts of the early Winnipeg Jets, I was the usually the guy sitting behind the console at the station. I enjoyed listening to the Voice of the Jets night after night. And the Jets were great, too!

I recently read The Battle of Britain: The Greatest Battle in the History of Air Warfare by Richard Townshend Bickers. It had some interesting descriptions of the radios used in Spitfires and Hurricanes during the early war years.
